JustWrite Product
[E Ink technology is found in the Amazon kindle]
Returning for a second internship, I worked as the sole designer on an advanced product development team for magnetic writeable displays. Drove prototyping, refined manufacturing process, ideated and generated concepts both for the tablet and stylus. Additionally, this led to opportunities to both present internally and to potential stakeholders and customers. Contributions detailed below; images were taken during process.
Demo Prototype
Features full vinyl wrapping, seamless buttons, company logo, and glue-less switch covers. I designed the finished model and a reproducible manufacturing process.
Dual WRITE-ABLE Background
Tablet can be written on in either the dark or light configuration at the preference of the user.
blister buttons
Buttons that switch/erase the ink, located on the front of the tablet.
Developed blister style to allow for a sleek uniform finish in the vinyl while maintaining functionality. Iteratively tested blister buttons for height and size with users.
Glue-less switch cover
To cover the switch with a more robust fitting, developed a concept that wraps around the entire switch and uses back pressure to stay secure; removes need to glue parts and risking harm to the switch.
Back labeling
Vinyl cut labels clearly indicate the use of each switch.

stylus: pencil/pen
Two magnetic stylus nibs developed for use with the JustWrite demo. One generates a thin, legible line and the other a thicker line for bordering, or underlining.
Pencil
Thinner line for most writing or intricate drawing.
Pen
Thicker line for shading, or larger lettering.
