Tablet Case design for JFK Library

Tablet cases for kids in libraries are essential for protection and usability. Made from sturdy yet light materials, they guard against drops and spills, keeping devices safe. The client wanted a comfortable, strong case that could connect to a lanyard for carrying. In order to keep the children from fiddling with buttons and the rubberized feet, the client stipulated that the power button only be accessible by using a paperclip and the feet only accessible during case assembly.

The first iteration of the tablet case featured 3 main body parts, 2 screws to hold them together, and 1 additional screw for the lanyard connector.

The second iteration kept the 3 main body parts, but increased the amount of body screws to keep parts secure during a fall. The rubber feet were moved to the parting line to increase ease of assembly.
